Are you Seeking?
Verse 12 says 'Then you will call upon me and pray to me and I will listen!"
Verse 13 says "You will seek me and FIND ME when you search for me with all your heart"
Never have these verses been more real to me than in the past three months. My dear friend experienced and continues to experience a tragic loss. She lost her husband and son in an instant. And in that instant her life and faith were changed forever. Walking this road with her has been a journey I am privileged to take. I am honored to be in her small circle of "sisters" who hold her up, comfort her, laugh with her, cry with her, and help give her hope. But I am not sure she may completely understand what she is allowing God to do in the rest of us.
What she is doing by her faith is making these words come COMPLETELY alive!! At least that is what is happening for me. We recite verse 11 all the time as Christians. Everyone seems to know that verse, but do we really comprehend verse 12, and 13? She does!! Not only does she talk to God and KNOWS He hears her, but her "seeking and searching" has allowed her to really "SEE" God works in miraculous and tender ways. It seems every day she has a new story of how she or someone was affected and blessed by a "little miracle" that reminds them and her of her son and husband. Random things show up in her life every day to remind her she is loved, is not alone, that God is sovereign, and that her future is secure. And every time she attributes it to God, so she just continues to see it more and more and MORE!
But the question is...."How does she do it?"
And the answer is simple...She is SEEKING, and she is SEARCHING, so she is FINDING!!!!
She has figured out the formula so perfectly layed out for all of us in God's Word. and I for one, am going to follow that formula myself a little more closely.
What is the secret to life? I don't know, and I don't have nearly all the answers. But I know Who does, I know I am His, and I know if I seek Him, talk to Him, and search for Him with my whole heart....He will listen, He will care, and I will find Him and examples of His love and presence ALL around me. I will keep my eyes open!!
And that gives us all HOPE!
